Josh

Joshua was born in August of 2004. He was born the first week after Seth and Aleah started kindergarten, so he was essentially an only child until 3 pm every day. He was NOT an easy baby. Maybe it was just a matter of my expectations not being in harmony with reality. I assumed that after having twins, one baby would be a piece of cake. But, holy cow, this boy was demanding. However, he was very cute and as he got older and his personality started to come out, we couldn't help but love him. (Even though he didn't sleep through the night until he was three years old.)

Josh has always been quick to smile. He loves to laugh and make others laugh too. Josh also started talking at a very early age. From day one, he was very vocal. We taught all of our kids "baby signs", and Josh picked up on them and used them more than any of the others. As soon as he figured out the language thing, though, he was talking as much as he could. He usually kept a running commentary going of all his observations. And he used words that were well beyond his age. Sometimes this was incredibly cute and sometimes it was terrifying. I wish I could remember all of the things he has said that have made me laugh. I'll try to write some of them down later. If anyone remembers anything, let me know.

Josh at 3 months.
He looks like a little prince waiting to be served.
(Which is, in fact, exactly what he was.)
Josh's first Christmas, 2004
Seth & Aleah were 5 years old and Josh was 4 months.

Josh has always loved the water. Even as a tiny
baby, if he was upset, the best way to calm him down
was to give him a bath. This picture was taken when
he was about 7 months old.
Exploring . . .
Josh LOVED his Johnny Jump Up. He always
wanted a lot of attention from me, so the only way that
I could get anything done was by letting him jump
and jump and jump and jump.

At the Oklahoma City Zoo. (11 months)

We went to the Downtown Acquarium in Houston
and I think this was about the only ride that Josh
was old enough to go on. (11 months)

We are so glad that Josh is part of our family and we love him very much!
